Platelet-rich plasma

Platelet-rich plasma makes it possible to isolate and use the growth factors present in the patient's own blood to boost, accelerate and stimulate tissue regeneration.

When applied to the hair, it stimulates the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, increasing the appearance of new blood vessels that stimulate hair growth and vascularisation at the hair follicle level.

This technique is indicated for all those people, both men and women, who are actively losing hair but still maintain the hair bulbs, i.e. the hair roots. It is also recommended for all those who have undergone a hair transplant.

It is an outpatient treatment, without surgery, which does not present intolerances or allergic reactions as it is a product obtained from the patient himself.

The number and frequency of sessions must be individualised for each patient but, in general, we recommend a session every three or four months during the first year as a preventive and maintenance plan.

The results are progressive and begin to be noticed after one month of treatment, being more visible from the second session onwards. With each session the results are more significant, and we will be able to appreciate the thickening of the existing hair follicle.

Both autumn and spring are seasons particularly prone to hair loss, and a very good time to start having platelet treatment with growth factors.

treatments points

Its main indications are:

  • Prevention of hair loss, direct family history of alopecia.
  • Improving the quality of existing hair.
  • Alopecia areata or cicatricial alopecia.
  • Progressive loss of density and volume.
  • After hair grafting

After treatment, the patient can resume normal activity immediately; although it is recommended not to massage the treated hair area immediately after the infiltrations.

There are currently other topical treatments such as minoxidil and oral treatments such as finasteride, vitamin complexes with biotin and minerals such as iron and zinc, which can be used as complementary treatments
