Chemical peeling is one of the most commonly used dermocosmetic procedures in aesthetic medicine for reparative purposes.
It is a procedure in which keratolytic substances are used that produce a slight corrosion in the outermost layers of the skin, which results in a subsequent process of exfoliation or peeling of the skin, favouring cell regeneration.
The more or less deep removal of a part of the skin will be determined by the type of substance used. For this reason, there are different types of peeling depending on their power and depth, classified as superficial, medium and deep.
The objective is to achieve an improvement in the quality of the skin surface, eliminate skin that is aged or altered by different conditions, attenuate aesthetic defects, provide luminosity and harmonize the skin color tone.
What does the treatment consist of?
The procedure is painless and simple. It requires easy preparation of the skin prior to treatment and basic aftercare such as the application of regenerating and moisturising creams, SPF+50 protection and avoiding exposure to the sun.
In the following days, a slight exfoliation of the skin can be experienced, which translates the cell renewal process.
After the peel, the patient can return to their normal life without having to take time off work or socially.
The total number of sessions and their frequency will be determined by the condition of each patient's skin. Sessions can be carried out every 3-4 weeks.
